Ambulance Appeal 2010

We have launched our Ambulance Appeal to raise £40,000 over the next two years to purchase at least one new/second-hand Ambulance. Follow links to DONATE and FUNDRAISE for our appeal; sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Thank you - so far we have raised an amazing £3442.30
Our highly trained first aid volunteers give over 3,000 hours each year to treat ill and injured people in the local community.  We provide first aid and ambulance cover to over 70 local events each year, treating in excess of 160 patients.  Every event is attended by one of our fully-kitted ambulances.  We use our ambulances to transport the right equipment to events and provide a safe, warm and private environment in which to treat our patients.

Our two oldest ambulances were new in: 1991 Ford Transit, 1969 series IIA Landrover.  The vehicle over 20 years old can affect our reliability and our provision of the best environment for patient treatment.   The older vehicles are beginning to show signs of wear and tear and are becoming a less suitable environment in which to treat patients. As demand on our services continues to grow, it is vital that we now replace at least one and preferably both of these vehicles.

Our 1982 Bedford CF failed its MOT (28 May 2010) and has been decomissioned.  Therefore, we have immediately had to  buy another amublance 1997 Ford Transit Lazer for £7,750.  We still need funds to cover this cost and provide another replacement ambulance.

A new frontline Ambulance costs in the region of £40,000-£60,000 to replace.  As a Charity we receive no core government funding and now really need your help to raise the money to buy new ambulances.  Every £ you donate will go directly to Hart First Response – no expenses, no overheads.

Any excess funds raised will be used to purchase first aid and medical equipment for Hart First Response.
