The v Project - "Ambulance crews of the future" 2009

This v Project is now closed to applicants.

We were awarded  £8,616 by v Project to train at least 10 new young volunteers in first aid and 5 volunteers in advanced life saving (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Technician) skills by 30 April  2010.

We were looking for 16 to 25 year olds who are interested in pre-hospital care, possibly as a future career and who are available on Tuesday evenings for free first aid training.  We will provide full training, opportunities for volunteering at a variety of events and further  skills development.

What will this funding do?

  • Provide volunteering opportunities for 16-25 year olds
  • Provide first aid at work training for at least 10 young volunteers
  • Provide access to ongoing weekly training, Tuesday evenings (8-10 pm) in Crondall for all young volunteers
  • Provide advanced pre-hospital training for 5 young volunteers who show an aptitude for first aid and a commitment to ongoing training
  • Give young volunteers the opportunity to practice their pre-hospital skills in a supervised environment in their local community
  • Provide young volunteers with transferable skills in pre-hospital care that will give advantages to those wanting to progress the opportunity of a career in the Ambulance Service.
