The
v Project - "Ambulance crews of the
future"
On
20 April 2007, HFR was granted £9,995 to provide young people with
an invaluable opportunity to gain skills and experience in volunteering
in the pre-hospital care setting. We are now looking for volunteers
(aged 18-25) that we can train as first aiders and ambulance crews of the
future.Thank you 2-Ten FM and V
for funding our project: "Ambulance crews of the future".
What did this
money do?

Provided 14 volunteering
opportunities for 17-25 year olds

Provided 6 first aid
at work courses for young volunteers

Provided access to ongoing
weekly training for all young volunteers

Provided advanced pre-hospital
training (Emergency Medical Technician course) for 5 young volunteers

Provided C1 driver training
for 1 young volunteer and C1 theory test for 1 young volunteer.

Gave 10 young volunteers
the opportunity to practice their pre-hospital skills in a supervised environment
in their local community

Provided 10 young volunteers
with transferable skills in pre-hospital care and driving that will give
advantages to those wanting to progress the opportunity of a career in
the Ambulance Service. 2 of our young volunteers have since joined
South Central Ambulance NHS Trust.
